// patent portfolio — eight architectures in active preparation
Patents
Citation HP-008: Eight architectures are under active patent preparation; three are detailed publicly.. Three architectures are described below at reduced detail. Five additional slots are in the disclosure with public framing to follow per-architecture as preparation completes.

Thematically coherent
The portfolio clusters around five architectural themes: privacy-preserving identity resolution, cross-system reunification, veterinary workflow integrity, consent-scoped pipelines, and stewardship lifecycle architecture. Each architecture stands on its own technically; together they compose a defensible position — implementing urSynergy's feature set at scale without infringing the portfolio is structurally difficult because the architectures are interlocking.
problem —Existing pet identification systems co-locate the scannable surface with the owner's identity. A scanner, a vendor database, or any party with access to the tag infrastructure can often enumerate or infer ownership details. The physical tag becomes a privacy attack surface. Compromise of any single layer can cascade into exposure of owner and animal identity at scale.
novel —A three-layer cryptographic architecture separating the physical scannable token, the junction record, and the animal record across isolated databases connected by HMAC-signed references. A scanner can confirm an animal's existence and resolve emergency contact routing without reading — or being capable of reading — the animal's identity or the owner's identity. Compromise of the tag layer cannot enumerate the identity layer; compromise of the identity layer cannot enumerate the tag layer.

Descriptor-based animal matching system

problem —Existing lost-and-found systems depend on photographs, microchip scans, or owner-provided identifiers to resolve found animals to lost reports. When a photograph is unavailable, when a chip is absent or unreadable, or when the animal carries no functional identifier, existing systems fail. Cross-jurisdictional recovery is especially fragile.
novel —A structured-descriptor matching engine that resolves probable identity from observable physical characteristics — species, breed, size, color pattern, coat type, ear shape, tail shape, distinctive markings — without dependence on photographs or shared identifiers. Partial information (broken tag, unscannable chip, incomplete sighting) produces probability-weighted match candidates ranked for steward review. The engine is jurisdiction-aware, resolving matches across jurisdictions whose identifier systems do not share vocabulary.
problem —Veterinary-originated prescriptions are the open loop of the animal pharmacy supply chain. Scripts are written at the clinic, delivered to owners by paper, phone call, fax, or written handoff, and filled at a pharmacy that has no structured verification path back to the originating clinician. Controlled-substance compliance is enforced on paper, not in data. Fulfillment confirmation does not flow back to the animal's medical record.
novel —A structured prescription routing bridge originates an authoritative veterinary Rx in one system, routes it as a verified transaction to any participating pharmacy in the network, enforces controlled-substance compliance at the transaction layer, and returns fulfillment confirmation to the animal's medical record — closing the loop between prescription and dispense. The architecture is substrate-independent: any PIMS can originate; any compliant pharmacy can fulfill.

Structural to the competitive position
The urSynergy patent portfolio is structural to the company's competitive position. Licensing, partnership structures involving use-rights, and strategic relationships connected to specific patents are negotiated case-by-case with qualified counterparties through urSynergy's partnerships team. The portfolio is not offered on standing licensing terms.
